PRAYER for Humility, July 28,2012

"Jesus, our Lord & Savior, we know that none of us are 100% humble, for we are clothed in these mortal, fallible bodies.  But we do know that You are completely humble and we look to You as our example.  As we clothe ourselves in Your righteousness we can overcome the pride that is ever before us.  We recognize that no good thing can come from us, but all that is good comes from You.  Remind us daily that gratitude is the antidote for feelings of pride.  When we acknowledge that everything we have and all that we are is due to Your merciful blessings we are humbled and grateful to You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift.  

Thank you, God Almighty, this we pray in Jesus' Name... Amen."

Father God, thank You for Your Word which fills my heart and mind with faith. I believe that You are good and that You are a rewarder.  I choose to put my trust in You knowing that You have blessings in store for my future, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Lord, before I go into this meeting, I still myself before You.
For You are filled with beauty and light, and care deeply about me.

Help me to listen, before speaking.

Help me to fully understand these people, before making my case.

Help me to value and appreciate the ones I am about to meet, 

before thinking of my own concerns and anxieties.
May Your light enfold me.
May Your spirit guide me.
May Your grace abound in me.
This I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Lord, I earnestly seek after You

I seek Your kingdom, Your will

That heaven may come to earth

And Your presence would be known by all

I lay my plans before You

Please rearrange them as You see fit

See if there is any corrupt way within me

And lead me in the everlasting way

I give you the desires of my heart

My ambitions and my schemes

I surrender them wholly to You

Please anoint them for Your purposes and glory

I give You my whole being

My giftings and my character

Come sharpen my skills and transform my heart

This day and every day
